Trucks 2 Go Ltd was formed in July 2005 by Managing Director Chris Hart after more than a decade of working within the Commercial Vehicle Industry.
Starting at his family business "James Hart (Chorley) Ltd" in 1992 where he worked in the workshop before moving to the Mercedes Benz network when he joined Cicely Merecedes in 1995. At Cicely Chris started as a used salesman, eventually becoming the Used Sales and Export Manager where he looked after 4 retail sites and travelled throughout the world to develop the export side of the business. This experience has been invaluable.
Trucks 2 Go based its self at a rented site originally based in Blackrod near to Bolton. The owner of the site and a long standing friend of Chris was brought into the business as an investor and partner, Phil Martindale. From here this allowed Trucks 2 Go to operate with the stock levels it required to make a name for itself in the industry which we firmly believe we have managed on a global basis.
The business quickly grew at quite a pace and within the first 12 months both of Chris's parents were brought into the company Stan Hart to help with the vehicle movements and Eileen to work in accounts. Shortly after Dave Weinberg joined the company to work in sales and Paul Christey as the General Manager, both of which had worked with Chris previously at Mercedes for some years. All of the above still remain with the company today.
In late 2007 Phil Martindales shares were to be re purchased by the company as plans were made to expand the company further.
The business has also started to work closley with many of the countries finance companies and banks to remarket repossessions and end of lease vehicles which has given Trucks 2 Go another valuable added dimension. A second site was also taken on locally to cope with the ever growing levels of stock.
In April 2009 Paula Jefford was to purchase a 50% stake in the business. Paula and her family also have a long association with the industry and brings with her a wealth of knowledge and contacts within the field.
Paula started her career in the industry back in 1997 where she worked with her father for a short spell until 1998 where she joined Truckworld. This was a company her father Dave Roberts had formed in conjunction with the Mercedes dealer Enza Motors. Truckworld was to become one of the country’s leading truck exporters exporting over 1000 vehicles per year. Paula worked in many aspects of the business including sales, accounts and running of all of the logistics of the business. This has given Paula an invaluable knowledge of the business.
The vision for Trucks 2 Go is to combine the knowledge and contacts that both Chris and Paula have and develop Trucks 2 Go to be the leading supplier within the commercial vehicle industry.
The business has recently purchased a new 3 acre site located in Cultcheth, Warrington where we plan to grow the business further.
