A few months ago on 16th October 2010 our Managing Director of Trucks 2 Go Chris Hart competed in the last round of the highly prestigious British GT event which was held at the famous Donington Park Circuit.
Chris, was one part of the 2 driver line up. He was absolutely honoured to be able to pair up with one of his childhood heroes, ex British Touring Car ace, Anthony Reid. It was a two hour race and the pair drove the works backed, all new Chevron GR8.
This was the debut GT race for the car built and entered by the famous race car manufacturer which as a company originated in the 60’s from Chris’s home town of Bolton. The car was entered in the invitation class and faired very impressively in its first outing, qualifying 10th for the race.
Chris started the race in tricky conditions and ran as high as 5th before handing over the car to the massively experienced Anthony Reid. The pair took victory in the class and finished an astounding 7th overall ahead of many of the far more powerful GT3 Ferraris and the mighty GT Ford.
Undoubtfully the pair had fun, and there are plans to test and improve the car over the winter and the pair may hopefully team up again next year in the car hopefully managing another astounding position!
